Our territory,
our heritage,
our wine.
Maruggio (TA), Puglia
Rural roots
The winery is located in Maruggio, in the heart of the Primitivo di Manduria DOP, nestled among the Saracen trulli that define the Salento countryside.
The ancient masseria — meticulously restored to honor its original architecture and materials, such as tuff stone and star-vaulted ceilings — coexists in perfect harmony with a modern, high-tech winemaking facility.
This dual soul reflects our philosophy: a deep respect for the land, its traditions, and its biodiversity, seamlessly integrated with continuous research and innovation.
Production philosophy
Alessandro Michelon, an oenologist with years of experience across Italy, has found in Puglia the ideal location to bring his vision to life: enhancing a unique terroir shaped by ancient vines, the sea, tradition, and extraordinary potential.
It is here — among Manduria, Sava, Maruggio, and the Ionian coast — that Masseria Borgo dei Trulli was born
A winery that cultivates old alberello (bush-trained) and spalliera (trellised) vineyards to produce wines of great personality, capable of competing with the finest Italian and international labels.
Ancient Saracen Trulli
The Saracen Trulli, also known as “Pajare,” are traditional Salento stone structures featuring a unique dry-stone architecture — a construction technique that relies solely on the skillful layering of stones, without the use of mortar or cement.
