Sustainability
At Masseria Borgo dei Trulli, sustainability starts from a simple choice: producing wine while respecting the surrounding environment to the fullest, with a short, traceable supply chain from vineyard to vinification.
The farm operates on an organic basis and preserves biodiversity by maintaining Mediterranean scrub, fruit trees, and “natural” areas among the vineyards, while fostering wildlife habitats. Continuous efforts are made to reduce waste and to improve the efficiency of resources and processes.
Agricultural roots and a short supply chain
Masseria Borgo dei Trulli is an estate
We cultivate our vineyards in the most suitable areas of Salento and produce wines that reflect the territory, caring for every process from vine to vinification, with constant attention to detail, quality, and the impact of our choices. A short, traceable supply chain is not just a guarantee of production: it is also a practical way to reduce waste, optimize productivity, and preserve the value of the territory where we operate.
Sustainability
Organic farming and biodiversity
The farmland is managed organically, guided by the awareness that the surrounding environment must be respected. In the vineyards, biodiversity is preserved by the maintenance of Mediterranean scrub and fruit trees, protecting “natural” areas along the edges and within the plots. This balance supports beneficial insects, birds, and wildlife, while also making the vineyards more resilient to diseases.
Sustainability
Resources, efficiency, and reuse
Sustainability also means using resources wisely. In a region where water and climate require attention, we work to make agronomic management and winery activities more efficient, focusing on targeted interventions and technologies that reduce consumption and loss. At the same time, we enhance vinification by-products in a circular logic: what comes from the production cycle is responsibly managed, transforming waste into a resource and contributing to a more circular model.
People, territory, and continuous improvement
Sustainability is also cultural and social: it is how we work, grow, and care for the people who make every harvest possible.
Training, safety, and attention to internal processes are part of our daily commitment, alongside our desire to honour the bond with Salento and its rural identity.
Measuring, improving, and investing over time: this is how we understand sustainability, as a real journey that unites tradition and innovation, respecting the land from which everything originates.
